Y6 Revision Covers explanation writing about photosynthesis, MRS GREN and names of bones. Much use of interesting fonts from dafont.com. I'll add the downloads for this when my broken computer returns with the files on. Second display covers main organs of human body made from projecting the image on coloured card and lots of cutting! Same with parts of flower. Daffodils and books add effect. Real plants for parts of a plant at the top. |

Our Senses Y1 & 2 Each pot contains something which smells: garlic, washing up liquid, coffee granules, vinegar etc. The little felt bags contain spices: ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves etc. Each child had one little bag to sniff and then had to use their sense of smell to find out who had the matching partner. |

Growing Y1 The class learnt a lot about growing and plants and this linked to fruit and vegetables that they tasted and painted. The children labelled plant parts.They also grew bean plants under different conditions to investigate the results. |

Materials Y1/2 We were learning about properties of materials. My T.A. thought of this idea and the children looked at the picture and added the words to describe the materials. |

Materials Y3 I just tried to find objects that were made from different materials to encourage the children to think about why things are made from certain materials. I tried to find some objects made from just one material, some from 2 (the glasses are a good example!) and some objects that could be made from 2 materials - e.g a wooden peg and a plastic peg. |

Rocks Y3/4 We looked at sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks. The
children experimented with chalk, pencil and pastels to draw the different
types of rocks, highlighting the features of each. |

Circuits and Conductors Y4 Display from very little space - children brought in games from home that had an electrical circuit in order for them to be played properly (Operation, Dr Who, Hot Wires etc). When circuits were made - children displayed a selection of them at the back and write on white board when they have ideas about how to check a circuit etc. Science books added - available for children to access. |
